Ḥarrat Khaybar is a volcanic field located north of Medina in the Hejaz, Saudi Arabia. It covers an area approximately 12,000 km2 (4,600 sq mi). The most recent eruption occurred between 600 and 700 AD. Man-made stone structures dating to the Neolithic period have been studied in Harrat Khaybar.
Ḥarrat Rahāṭ is a volcanic lava field in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia. In 1256 CE, a 0.5 km3 (0.12 cu mi) lava flow erupted from six aligned scoria cones, and traveled 23 km to within 4 km of the Islamic holy city of Medina; this was its last eruption. Ḥarrat Lunayyir is a lava field in northwestern Saudi Arabia. In 2009 there were swarms of small earthquakes in the area; 2289 people were evacuated from the area. Fissures opened on the surface, and the area might now be considered volcanically active.
